Olot is the capital of Catalonia’s ‘la Garrotxa’ volcanic region, an area that is exceptional for its countryside and orographic landscap. Olot’s Xanascat hostel is an eclectic blend of Catalan Noucentist architecture, designed by Bonaventura Bassegoda Amigó and built between 1920-22. Situated right in the middle of the Passeig Barcelona (Olot’s main thoroughfare), from this hostel you’ll have everything la Garrotxa has to offer just a (volcanic) stone’s throw away.

Explore the Croscat or Santa Margarida volcanoes (or any other of the forty-plus volcanoes in the region); immerse yourself in the holm-oak and oak woods, or in the emblematic Fageda d'en Jordà forest.
