The fairs held throughout the year complement shopping and tourist attractions in Olot. The most emblematic fair to take place in the city is the Sant Lluc fair, which dates from 1315 and was originally based on livestock. Currently this fair, a showcase of social and economic activity in the region, is complemented by the Livestock Fair and Art Fair that take place on 18 October. Other fairs include the Cold Meat Fair, the First of May Fair, the Origins Fair and the Christmas Market. Arts and crafts markets are also held at the same time as these fairs.
