The rooms of the Garrotxa Museum are dedicated to the artistic activity of the region between the end of the eighteenth century and the mid-twentieth century. The central axis is the so-called Landscape School of Olot: a particular way of understanding and representing the art promoted by the brothers Joaquim and Marià Vayreda and by Josep Berga Boix, who had a notable influence on several generations of painters. Two of the best represented artists are the Olot painters Miquel Blay and Josep Clarà, considered two basic figures of the modernism and the novecentismo.
La Càrrega, oil painting in a realistic style of large dimensions by Ramon Casas, is also exhibited in the Garrotxa Museum
